A Melbourne restaurant that’s only just opened has earned a reputation for having one of the most unusual menu selections in the city.
It’s called Melbourne Kitchen, and it is the brainchild of chef Andrew Maclean and his wife, Samantha.
The menu is a mix of dishes that come from local ingredients and is designed to be enjoyed in a small space.
“It’s kind of like a little bit of a family,” Mr Maclean said.
“We like to try to have something for everyone.”
The menu includes items such as the chicken and fish and potato dish with rice, the salad, and the dessert.
“There’s a whole lot of different dishes that you could make, and there’s not too many of them on the menu,” Mr McLean said.
Mr Maclean started the restaurant in 2014.
“I got a job that I had to leave a year ago,” he said.
He said it was hard to make money, but he was determined to continue the menu.
“They’ve been doing well for us and they’ve had a good run, so it was nice to see how it’s been doing,” Mr MacDonald said.
